MANAGING YOUR GARDEN - REMOVING WEED AND CREEPY CHARLIE THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN - BY THE ROOT
Updated: Aug 11
IT took a full week and the help from two other hands to accomplish a somewhat of a nightmare goal. Taking control of my lawn to rid of creeping Charlie. I have heard from so many that this challenge is unsolvable and that it will forever return. Once you have creeping Charlie - there's no getting rid of it.
I have 3 areas of grass: front of my house, side of my house and the backyard. I had the pleasure in using a hoe to dig up the grass on the side. It was something I had been pondering about doing for some time but never was completely sure if it was the right approach and I knew it would be an undertaking,
The side lawn was quite terrible, there's a mix of grass that grows that leaves it dusty to cut and if unmanaged can grow to be very wild and tall.
The end result of back breaking pounding and swinging during dry weather and rain was a completely new lawn filled with replanted flowers pulled foremother areas in my lawn. In order to contain the wild growth of weeds I did use a weed spray but am looking for something more natural.
I actually found this to be pretty exciting for the mere fact I saved myself quite a bit of money from using a lawn service that may not exactly resolve my issue for the long term and instead keep me reliant on them and not learning to do it myself.
